Natural wonder

The beach of Cavoli

Cavoli is one of the most renowned beaches on Elba Island, famous for its unspoilt natural setting, crystal clear water and particularly mild climate.

The beach stretches for over 300 metres, with coarse granite sand with golden reflections, framed on either side by imposing rocks. The seabed slopes gently, making it ideal for children, and opens onto a clear sea where it is difficult to distinguish the depth. Its sheltered position, open only to south-westerly currents, and the slopes of the nearby Monte Capanne, which reach 1,000 metres, ensure a pleasant climate even in the low season.

The name "Cavoli" derives from cavili, the square blocks of granite that were once extracted from the quarries in the area. Along the path leading to San Piero, you can still admire the ancient abandoned Roman columns, witnesses to local history.

To the left of the beach is the Grotta Azzurra - Blue Grotto, easily accessible by pedalo or small boat, a little wonder to explore during your day at the beach.

The beach, very popular with young people, alternates between free stretches and areas equipped with three beach establishments, which offer parasols, sunbeds, deckchairs, changing rooms, hot and cold showers, pedalo and canoe hire, first aid with defibrillator and qualified staff. One of these establishments also has a nursery cabin, toy storage, changing rooms, disabled facilities, Wi-Fi and an internet cabin.

To complete your experience, you will find several bars and restaurants on the beach, as well as a small bazaar with a newsagent and tobacconist, perfect for all your needs throughout the day.
