The island of Elba is connected to the mainland by three shipping companies - Toremar, Moby Lines and Blu Navy - which operate daily services between Piombino and Portoferraio (Toremar also to Rio Marina, Moby Lines also to Cavo). Due to its proximity, we recommend the Piombino - Portoferraio route. The crossing takes about 60 minutes. Toremar also operates some hydrofoil services to Portoferraio (30 minutes) and Cavo (20 minutes).
